The Senior Water Planning and Engagement coordinator is responsible for delivering water planning functions for the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board. Key areas of responsibility include the provision of policy leadership, project delivery, stakeholder engagement and communications.

  • Water resources projects that assist with the achievement of the strategic objectives and priorities for landscapes in the Hills and Fleurieu region, are planned, managed and implemented.
  • Advice is provided to the Board, Board staff and community on water related matters.
  • The region’s Water Allocation Plans are reviewed and amended, in accordance with relevant state and national legislation and guidelines.
  • Stakeholders, including First Nations and industries, are engaged in relevant aspects of the planning process through the development and implementation of effective engagement strategies.
  • Effective and targeted communication materials are developed for a range of stakeholders in the project areas.
  • Board papers, Ministerial Briefings and written responses to submissions received during relevant statutory consultation periods are accurately prepared and delivered on time.
  • Productive, cooperative and positive working relationships are established and maintained with key stakeholders, including First Nations, industries, local communities, the Board and committees, staff and agencies which contribute to the development, implementation and review of water management policies, implementation plans and related issues.
  • Water allocation plans are informed by the development and evaluation of specific, measurable, appropriate and realistic targets.
  • When liaising with external stakeholders, the Region is represented in a professional and cooperative manner, demonstrating a flexible and strategic approach.
Special Conditions
  • Position is located in Mt Barker or Willunga.
  • May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
  • A current class “C” driver’s licence, and willingness to drive, is essential.
  • Some out of hours work, intrastate travel involving overnight absences from home or out of normal office hours is required as part of the position.

Full-time for 3 years


$92,784 - $98,143 per annum (ASO6)
