JOB DESCRIPTION

VITG is an Australian hosting company offering advanced Cloud Computing Services. We host companies' entire IT from Azure and our Data Centres and provide a hosted managed desktop solution delivering business applications to our customers.


We are seeking a motivated engineer with minimum 5 years’ experience to join our engineering team that manages our environment of Azure, O365, virtualisation hosts, SANs, switches, firewalls, load balancers etc. running hundreds of servers which services thousands of users across many customers.


This is a great opportunity to work in a team as we steadily build our customer base with our unique offering. Due to the size and style of our team you’ll need a wide variety of technical and problem solving skills as we tend not to have overly specific or restrictive roles and we all have to roll up the sleeves and get our hands dirty.


You will have to visit clients from time to time for pre-sales engagements, assist them with migrating their IT into our hosting environment and very occasionally provide on-site support for more complex issues, but most of the times you will be working from our Castle Hill office.

You must have a high level of Customer Service focus, be able to show initiative and be prepared to take ownership of customer issues, seeing them through to a resolution.


Skills required for this role:

  • Migrating Customers to/from Office 365/Azure
  • Windows Server Management
  • MS Exchange
  • Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware
  • Group Policy Management
  • WVD, Citrix XenApp or RDP
  • Veeam / other backup solutions


Experience with any of the technologies below is highly desirable.

  • PowerShell scripting and/or .NET programming experience
  • Linux (Ubuntu)
  • Firewall and Switch management
  • Networking design skills such as routing, subnetting etc.
  • HP/DELL SAN's
  • Basic MS SQL and or MySQL database installation and management


The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent customer service attitude and the ability to build rapports with customers
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills with a great phone manner
  • Certification in IT (TAFE or Uni) or experience in similar field
  • Strong organisational skills and be able to multi-task and prioritise
  • Excellent customer service attitude
  • The ability to think outside the box to find solutions to problems
  • Australian driver’s license and own transport is desirable
