JOB DESCRIPTION

John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (JHSWJV) have been successfully awarded the contract for the design and construction of Sydney Gateway Stage 1 and Stage 3. The project includes 5 kilometres of new road, 16 bridges and close to 3 kilometres of active transport links.

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to provide specialist support to our construction teams on the Sydney Gateway project.

Remuneration is $110,000 to $140,000 inclusive of superannuation + benefits.

About the role, the successful applicant:

  • Work in conjunction with site teams in capturing actual quantities of work completed for the purposes of compiling the Head Contract Payment Claim and internal cost reporting.
  • Work with the site teams in setting up spreadsheets and tracking mechanisms to accurately capture daily costs, quantities completed and productivities where applicable, including regular checking of data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Responsible for preparation of the Head Contract Payment Claim including management and tracking of ARQ’s that support the claim with the Client.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Head Contract Variations.
  • Assisting site team in development of detailed forecast cost to complete assessments, including review of scopes of work and appropriate rates to complete.
  • Updating registers and monitoring compliance of contract requirements.
  • Identify and compile insurance claims as required.
  • Responsible for the preparation, updating and monitoring of project cash flows.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications (Quantity Surveying, Construction Commercial Management, Finance or similar)
  • Prior relevant experience within the construction industry, preferably in the civil sector
  • Construction Safety Induction (White) card
  • Strong financial analysis and administrative focus
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a focussed team
  • Current C-Class Driver’s License
