Location: Melbourne

Responsible for undertaking development activities required to deliver IT solutions that meet the business needs. Estimates and carries out systems development work to time, budget and quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards. Resolves technical development issues that may arise during the whole development lifecycle. Senior Engineers are experienced and technically strong programmers who help influence the tech landscape of Product Engineering through mentoring, alignment to other developers, and strong application design skills.

What you'll be doing:

  • Completes development deliverables in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-for purpose, can be efficiently supported and the impact of future change requests can be assessed
  • Works with IT, the Business and external partners to ensure that the technology solutions are delivered on time, on schedule and on budget
  • Designs technical solutions of assigned technology solutions for projects
  • Assists and supports testing activities (e.g. System, Integration and User Acceptance)
  • Follows all change control procedures and put in place full version control and configuration management to ensure that the production service is not compromised.
  • Demonstrates consideration of customer needs and customer experience targets, as driven by business requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Commercial experience as a software developer utilising technologies relevant for the role applied (React, Angular, Git, AWS, etc)
  • Experience delivering software in an agile environment. Being part of a development team applying agile methodology best practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of micro services architecture
  • You are Team centric rather than hero centric and want to help mentor junior developers
  • Lead our tech Communities of Practices – contribute to tech forums within DDC to actively uplift capabilities
