About the role


We are looking for an experienced DevSecOps engineer with knowledge of application security, to join the product development team in Oracle, Australia. As the DevSecOps engineer in the OSInt project, you will take ownership of the existing security knowledge base curation frameworks and tools, further developing and maintaining these on an ongoing basis. OSInt is a big data analytics project that gathers information about security vulnerabilities in libraries and transforms that into actionable security intelligence for end users. You will be collaborating with the research and development engineers based in Brisbane, Australia as well as across time zones with development organisations at worldwide Oracle locations in order to deliver and support a DevSecOps framework that keeps security knowledge bases and related code and data artefacts up to date. What will you bring to the job?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Cyber Security or related disciplines would be ideal
  • Good understanding of application security, CVE classification system (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) and OWASP top 10
  • Previous experience in technical roles specialising in DevOps, DevSecOps and/or CI/CD
  • Experience of workflow automation tools for software development & deployment
  • Experience with SCM/version control tools (e.g., Git, svn etc) and managing source code patches
  • Advanced Python/bash scripting skills
  • Strong analytical skills combined with good communication skills and fluent English
  • Eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorship is essential

  • Prior experience in a software development role would be beneficial
  • Experience or knowledge of data pipeline orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow
  • Experience with automation using Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise tools, Bitbucket pipelines etc. is beneficial
  • Troubleshooting Maven build dependencies for Java applications
  • Scala programming experience is an advantage
  • Ability to review and analyze vulnerabilities in open-source software written in Java
