We’re thrilled to be looking for a new Solution Architect, Payments & Benefits Platform to architect and deliver the first iteration of a novel payments platform within EmploymentHero. You will form an integral component of our payments technical council and, together with the Tech Lead + Head of Payments, design + refine an evolving framework through which to deliver platform features.

This is a pivotal new role in framing and scaling the next phase of our Employment Hero journey, as we integrate nextgen fintech capabilities into our employee Payments and Benefits offers. Reporting to our MD of Payments & Benefits you’ll play a critical role building a Payments & Benefits platform that contributes to a better version of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and promote an architectural vision to support a rapidly expanding fintech platform
  • Lines and boxes at a macro and micro level - what are the principal components of the payments platform and how do our individual components behave under load
  • Actively participate and frame technical issues in fintech product strategy discussions
  • Build relationships and work with key technology partners (Card-as-a-Service, Bank-as-a-Service platforms, payments processors, etc.) to integrate their offerings into the platform
  • Mentor and develop technical leadership across the payments + benefits team
  • Work in concert with tech leads and product managers to plan and deliver features from concept to production


Requirements
  • 10+ years designing and building highly scalable distributed software systems
  • 5+ years designing, building and operating SaaS products (preferred AWS hosted)
  • Proven ability to drive architectural vision for a company or highly scalable line of products
  • Proven ability to ideate and iterate on a novel technical platform
  • Strong opinions, loosely held. An ability to evolve with the platform as it grows and scales.

Extras
  • Experience in fintech, particularly w/r/t card / payment processing or consumer finance
  • Experience defining test, build, and deploy strategies for payments products
  • Understanding of financial system security requirements and standards compliance
  • Experience integrating with banking systems and protocols
