The role
We are seeking a Project/Construction Engineer who is passionate about planning, engineering and innovation to join our Projects and Infrastructure team.

This role will assist in the delivery of effective project management including construction supervision and management of a variety of Municipal engineering and building infrastructure projects undertaken by Council.

As a Project/Construction Engineer reporting directly to the Manager Project and Infrastructure, you will:
  • Assist in the development and coordinate the delivery of infrastructure assets projects
  • Monitor projects including site progress through site visits to inspect, audit and make preliminary and progress assessments of projects
  • Assist in the preparation, monitoring and control of project budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation and assessment of tenders
  • Prepare reports for the Executive team and Councillors
  • Develop strong and positive relationships with both internal and external customers.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have the ability to communicate and establish rapport with internal and external stakeholders. You will be proactive, diligent and solutions oriented with exceptional decision-making skills and attention to detail.

The Following Is Also Required
  • Knowledge / experience in the successful delivery of capital infrastructure projects
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering. Eligibility for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia is Mandatory. Lower qualifications with significant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in the preparation, checking and administration of Civil Engineering / Building design and construction contracts.
  • Some management skills including budgeting, contract and project management, construction supervision and the ability to set priorities and complete projects to achieve key project success factors.
  • Well-developed skills in the use of general business and engineering specific software.
  • A current Victorian Driver's Licence
