Synopsis

Community Building Team Leader

  • Band 7 salary range $94,896 - $106,194 + 9.5 per cent Superannuation
  • Permanent, Full Time, flexible working arrangements
  • St Kilda or During COVID-19 Pandemic, with Council and State Government direction, this role is able to work from home and the St Kilda Town Hall.
About The Organisation

City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare, aged care and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.

About The Role

Do you want to make a difference in the community? If so, an exciting leadership opportunity exists within Council’s Grants and Community Building Team for the position of Team Leader Community Building. We are looking for a dynamic Leader committed to access and equity with a strong background in community building, stakeholder engagement and excellent communication skills.

Duties
  • Lead initiatives that build the capacity of community organisations.
  • Support activities that build social inclusion and connection across neighbourhoods.
  • Manage the positive ageing portfolio.
  • Support the implementation of our Volunteer Management Framework.
  • Coordinate Council’s activities to meet responsibilities under the Carers Recognition Act.
  • Identify funding opportunities.
Skills

And Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in in a relevant discipline such as community development, social sciences or community services and/or extensive relevant work experience.
  • Experience in project, program and event management, including evaluation.
  • Experience working with diverse communities
  • Current Working with Children Check and Police Check
