As a global leader in renewables and expanding projects across the globe, an opportunity now exists for a qualified EPC Civil Engineer to support the civil balance of plant tendering and project development aspects with a focus on projects in the Sales phase department.

Sales>Global Construction Management>Global EPC

The Global EPC team sits within Vestas' Global Construction department and is responsible for the preliminary design and estimation of the Balance of Plant works (Civil and Electrical) of wind farms which are considered for EPC (Engineer, Procure and Construct) Contracts. The team is also involved with the BoP works associated with S&I (Supply and Install) contracts.


  • Preparation of concept designs to be released as civil tender documents or used in project development
  • Developing and optimising project layouts for civil constructability
  • Assist with preparation of civil balance of plant tender packs for release
  • Preparation of detailed bill of quantities to inform civil contractor pricing
  • Review of Development Applications / Planning Permits for project-specific conditions
  • Ensuring tender packs for release comply with client requirements,
  • Development Application, project constraints, etc.
  • Assist with evaluating civil contractor tender submissions.
  • Assist with scoping and management of consultants engaged for early works aspects that may consist of preliminary Geotech investigations, design aspects, Traffic Management Plans, etc.
  • Preparation of civil works cost estimate for projects in early stages of development.
  • Post Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Approximately 5 years experience
  • Ideally, previous design experience with wind farms however not essential
  • Design software such as Autocad and GIS, with 3D design experience highly valued
  • Design experience with general civils / pavements / foundations
  • Awareness of site constraints applicable to wind farms
  • Management of consultants (designers, Geotech, etc.) preferred
  • Experience with costings and tenders preferred
  • Awareness of wind farm geotechnical investigations
  • Experience in negotiation with stakeholders, both clients / contractors
  • Advanced use of MS Office
  • Good verbal and written communication/negotiation
  • Innovative view and practical approach toward the role
  • Commercial and Risk Awareness
