About The Role...

We are looking to hire a Production Engineer for our Albury Manufacturing Plant based in NSW. Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for implementing production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements with project based activities, including new product introduction and manufacturing cell design to reduce waste, reduce operating costs and improve quality and safety.

You will be expected to work on many phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting project completion.

To ensure and maintain high quality standards you will require the knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Systems and Continuous improvement tools & techniques such as Kaizen, JIT and Kanban.

About The Person…

You will be a qualified engineer with a relevant engineering degree and practical hands on experience of at least 5 years in project management. It is critical to have worked in a high-volume manufacturing environment with experience of LEAN, Kaizen/A3 and Poka Yoke techniques. You will have exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

Good knowledge and understanding of air conditioning / heating processes, components and manufacturing techniques will be vital to excel in your role.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Coordinate and lead all activities associated with implementing and monitoring capital projects to ensure cost effective integration of new products or the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations.
  • Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities
  • Maintain high standards of performance including and but not limited to safety, budget adherence, quality and timeliness of delivery
  • Promote and maintain the highest degree of health, safety and well-being for yourself and others.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste
You must be able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with the engineering team and key stakeholders across the business. You must be able to think critically, analytically and laterally to navigate complex operational issues and to effectively manage change in the workplace. Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills and an ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity are paramount in this role.
