About the role:

Geoplex is looking for a Geospatial Engineer to join our Canberra team. You will be responsible for applying your knowledge of geospatial concepts and software in a consulting capacity. You will have the opportunity to engage closely with our clients on a range of projects across enterprise geospatial applications, spatial data processing, visualisation, analytics, and platform maintenance.

What will you be involved in:

  • Engaging in a variety of technical work focused on geospatial platform configuration, customization and deployment;
  • Using geospatial software and processes to perform spatial data analysis, visualization and translation;
  • Contributing to the development of project requirements and solution designs;
  • Supporting the optimization, maintenance, and upgrade of geospatial platforms;
  • Working within a talented and motivated multidisciplinary team, with a focus on building high quality geospatial solutions and products;
  • Working in a collaborative, lean and agile environment;
  • Delivering successful customer outcomes.

What we would like from you:

  • A bachelor's degree in associated business disciplines (Geomatics, Land Information, Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, Remote Sensing); or 5+ years equivalent experience;
  • Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain an AGSVA Security Clearance;
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial and/or Open-Source geospatial platforms such as ESRI, FME, Mapbox, Geoserver, Leaflet, or Google;
  • Skills in the automation of geospatial software and data processes using modern scripting languages, such as Python;
  • Working knowledge of the software development life cycle, software deployment processes and cloud infrastructure;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and customer facing role;
  • A Passion for working in a team environment and a desire to learn new skills and share your knowledge.
