My client is a successful family company with nearly 40 years' experience as a leading designer and manufacturer in the commercial office furniture market, creating collections for the modern workplace. The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the success of the estimating department and managing a team of 4 established and high performing Estimators. You will enjoy being hands on and working closely with the Sales team to achieve quality and accuracy of the estimating function and setting the sell prices aligned with the company's gross profit targets.
This role would be ideal for an established Senior or Lead Estimator ready to make the next step or alternatively an established Manager looking for a change. There is no travel required, and flexibility to work either from the modern showroom office in King St Sydney or the warehouse facility based in Glendenning.
Key responsibilities will include:

* Interpret plans and technical documents to prepare estimates
* Allocating and oversight of work being conducted by the Estimating team
* Managing the full spectrum of pricing and quotations within specified timeframes
* Ensuring GP% on quotes is aligned and achieved with set targets
* Liaising with Project Managers, Sales and Operation team to prepare estimates and bids for clients, factoring on-charge and variation costs
* Collaborate with suppliers, architects, clients and contractors on estimates
* Challenge processes to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the estimating function performance

About you:

* Previous experience within an Estimator or Cost Engineering role in a related industry.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Computer literacy and a strong capability working with numbers
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic and having the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships
* Ability to build and lead high performing, happy teams
* Previous experience within a manufacturing or related industry would be highly advantageous but not essential
