Thanks to continued growth and exciting development plans in the West Sussex County Council FM Contract, we have an opportunity for an experienced Contract Engineer to join our team based from Chichester. You'll plan, organise, control and manage all types of project work on mechanical systems and associated plant and equipment, in accordance with safety and customer requirements, ensuring all works are completed to time and budget. You'll actively promote a safety culture, ensuring all Company and customer safety rules and procedures are observed by staff and contractors and you will prepare accurate tenders forelectrical works.

You'll plan and organise all types of project and maintenance works onthe West Sussex estate to meet customer requirements in accordance with Company safety and maintenance standards. You'll monitor the work of direct staff and contractors engaged on all types of Capex, repair and maintenance projects to ensure the safe and efficient completion of projects. What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you'll have sound technical mechanical knowledge and will be familiar with working in a variety of buildings. You'll have an mechanical background encompassing a range of contracting activities and be able to demonstrate commercial acumen and enthusiasm to help grow our business. You'll have the ability to identify, quote and manageproject contracts and will be able to negotiate with clients to secure profitable business.

You should be able to apply financial and budgetary controls so that maximum profit is received, whilst managing quality, safety and planning of the work. You'll also have a working knowledge of the CDM regulations, in addition to general office applications including MS Excel. You'll be committed to continuous improvement and be able to get excellent results through the team and others around you.
