JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Sanctions Delivery team are seeking a results focused individual to take accountability for analysis and development of new products, as well as playing a role in the transformation and build out of our digital platforms.

The successful applicant will be responsible for working within agile scrum teams on the Financial Crime Sanctions platform to analyse, collaborate and document business and technical requirements required to support their build team. As well as strong Business Analysis skills, we are looking for strong Development skills and sound Engineering knowledge to join our dynamic squad.

This will be done using an iterative approach enabling the team to build and ship our business priorities whilst employing agile delivery methodologies to ensure consistent, accurate and timely outcomes.

A strong focus will be placed on the applicant’s ability to engage and motivate their colleagues, work in a cross-functional agile team and utilise agile delivery techniques to ensure speed to market is maintained whilst ensuring a high quality of output using cutting edge solutions to drive a first-class customer experience. The applicant should be resilient to change. Experience in process re-engineering and innovation would be preferable.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Incepting features with their scrum team to size up high level effort and break down delivery into epics and stories
  • Building and maintaining their scrum team’s delivery backlog - working closely with the scrum team to define what needs to be built in the form of user stories.
  • Provide technology based solutions incorporating strategy, design, development, delivery and maintenance of technological solutions and its cloud infrastructure to meet our customers’ needs.
  • Business analysis of current state and future state within the context of the Service.
  • Technical analysis of APIs - interpreting and incorporating technical details into stories to support development effort. 
  • Support lower level decision making during delivery that aligns with Product Owner and Financial Crime roadmaps. 
  • Working directly with our Sanctions technology team and key stakeholders to help prioritise work, regularly communicating outcomes, opportunities, risks and issues.
  • Working closely with key internal stakeholders such as Sanctions Service Architect, Management Assurance, Change, Product teams, Project teams and other technology teams to deliver the financial crime roadmap.

 

Essential knowledge, experience and attributes:

  • 5+ years within a Business Analysis or similar role including software development experience
  • Experience building java-based applications
  • Strong experience in business and process analysis, mapping and engineering
  • Experience working in large, complex projects in an unpredictable environment with competing priorities
  • Development and delivery of requirements and processes supporting the build and release of financial crime applications
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing/presentations skills
  • Risk assessment, planning and mitigation skills
  • Strong analytical / problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience working collaboratively
  • Experience working with sanctions applications and/or microservices
  • Working within an Agile software development team, specifically in a cross-functional scrum team of 10-15 people
