About the Opportunity :

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Infrastructure team to help monitor, manage and maintain our global payments infrastructure. Reporting to Platforms Lead, this role works to ensure our platform can scale to meet out growing business and has the resilience to meet the agreed services levels required by our customers, partners and regulators.

Platform Engineers at Openpay understand and apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to effectively manage systems and data infrastructure. Working in cloud environments, they apply their IaC skills to manage infrastructure provisioning, their knowledge of monitoring, alerting and tracing tools to identify and solve problems, and their system administration experience to maintain the health and security of our production and non-production environments.


How you would contribute to the role :

  • Performing system administration tasks on servers and databases
  • Managing cloud networks and network infrastructure components (firewalls, load balancers, traffic managers, etc)
  • Working with DevOps engineers to manage the deployment of applications to production
  • Using IaC tools such as Cloud Formation to managing infrastructure provisioning in a consistent and reliable manner
  • Writing scripts to automate various tasks to assist with system and database administration
  • Working with engineering teams to ensure instrumentation and telemetry tools are configured to allow monitoring at the application level
  • Performing resiliency and disaster recovery testing


The bit about you:

  • Experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure and services
  • Experience building and managing container-based infrastructure using Docker
  • Experience with IaC technologies (CDK, Cloud Formation, Terraform, etc)
  • Experience administering and using observability tools (Data dog, New Relic, AppDynamics, SumoLogic, Splunk, etc)
  • Database administration skills
  • Scripting experience for automation on Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
