Glencore Technology are currently advertising for Mechanical Engineers to join the Engineering team. This is a rare opportunity to join an experienced team introducing industry-changing technology. The role requires good interpersonal skills to communicate technical and commercial issues with clients, with the passion and tenacity to make a difference in the industry. These roles are fixed term and overseas travel may be required.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Development of project technical scopes, specifications, plant designs, detailed layouts, procurement and commissioning plans
  • Developing project estimates and budgets
  • Ensuring designs are properly optimised and all proposal cost estimates and associated inputs are accurate and competitively priced while maintaining safety and technical integrity
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for alternative solutions, design innovation and improvements
  • Dealings with various vendors, suppliers and fabricators to cover aspects of quality assurance and factory testing requirements
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Have
  • Australian citizenship/residency
  • Tertiary qualification/s in Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 + years relevant Australian post-grad experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status or working towards obtaining registered status in the next 6 to 12 months
  • Be forward thinking, with the ability to efficiently complete scheduled tasks
  • Excellent analytical skills, computer literacy and proficiency in both verbal and written communication
  • Engineering experience in smelter or pyro metallurgical industry will be an added advantage
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as part of the role
