As a Mobile Applications Engineer (Android) at Sine, you’ll work with a cross functional team to deliver new functionality to our Android app Sine Pro. Now is an exciting time to join the team as we join forces with Honeywell to build on our exciting product.

What you'll do

  • Work in a cross functional team of engineers to deliver new functionality to our Android application
  • Develop and test mobile applications built in the Android ecosystem utilising Kotlin & Java.
  • Contribute and collaborate on ideas for new functionality
  • Come up with and test solutions to overcome complex engineering challenges
  • Advocate for end users and better ways to solve problems for them
  • Support the customer support and operations teams to diagnose production issues
  • Build continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines and automation
  • Support the growth of teammates and engineering culture
  • Innovate our development processes to ensure that we remain agile
  • Review code from other developers and constructively give improvement suggestions and adviceBe an advocate for high quality solutions (code, solution design, user interface, testability, maintainability)
  • Come up with and test solutions to overcome complex engineering challenges

What you'll have

  • Commercial experience building native Android applications in Java & Kotlin
  • Proficient understanding of git version control
  • Experience using Gradle for third party dependencies
  • Experience with reactive programming styles
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines for implementing asynchronous functionality
  • Experience with dependency injection/inversion of control software design patterns
  • Experience writing tests in the Java/Android ecosystem
  • Experience with Android XML layout resources, Constraint Layout, and associated tools
  • Understanding of HTTP communication and understanding of how REST APIs are designed and consumed
  • Experience with automated build processes
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
  • iOS Ecosystem knowledge (nice to have)
