The Role

We currently have two Electrical Engineering opportunities available:

  1. Full-time permanent
  2. 2-year full-time term contract

The Electrical Engineer is accountable to the Engineering Team Leader and is responsible for providing professional engineering services, support, advice and lead design teams to produce substation designs and solutions both internal and external to SA Power Networks for the purpose of delivering safe and reliable designs, fully supporting project outcomes within the project constraints – for example Safe Design, SAPN / Australian Standards, corporate budget and risk.

The Electrical Engineer provides professional engineering advice to customers and support to EDaTS functions of Primary, Secondary, Automation, Telecommunications and Line, principally relating to infrastructure, earthing, electrical interference, electrical design and the integration of these systems in substations.

What you will need:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic Engineering, that will allow admission as Corporate Member of Institute of Engineers, Australia. (CPEng is desirable)
  • Extensive relevant experience as an Engineer in the Electrical Industry
  • Experience project leading complex unregulated projects

Other criteria include:

  • Intra/interstate travel
  • After hours work arrangements may be required
  • May be required to stay away overnight
