About The Role

We are looking for an Azure API Architect and Developer to be our subject matter expert for Integration technologies within Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) in Rio Tinto. This includes architecture, solution design and operational accountabilities.

This role is a great opportunity for a integration architect and developer to work across the Rio Tinto application landscape to ensure system integration across the business.

Reporting to the Manager ERP Operations, and working in an exciting and collaborative environment within the Global IS&T Operations team, you will
  • Provide solution knowledge and subject matter expertise to customers and suppliers to shape demand and oversee quality of technical integration delivery
  • Contributes to strategy within the relevant architecture, solution development and operational function across IS&T.
  • Ensure technical solutions and activities undertaken by suppliers are delivered to a high standard, in line with agreed processes, development standards and meet or exceed agreed quality expectations
  • Validate the design of new or existing solutions, maximise appropriate usage of the existing assets and integration into the existing environment. Ensure existing enterprise architecture and guidelines are applied to appropriately meet the original customer requests.
  • Review and approve supplier proposed solutions and estimates, review that technical requirements will be met and raise issues where appropriate.
  • Refine and improve technical design standards and implementation methods to improve quality of delivery
  • Identify Continuous Improvement Opportunities for solution development and operations, based on feedback from customers, teams and observations of process and deliverables.

  • Several years’ experience in integration architecture within a large global IT organisations
  • Solution oriented, with excellent team member leadership skills and supplier relationship skills
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills, and confidence to operate at all levels of the business.
  • Customer focus and strong understanding of business context
  • Working in a highly outsourced environment, with multiple stakeholders, in multiple regions with varying time-zones

  • Wide breadth of business understanding applicable to the execution of business functions across Rio Tinto. Must have skills, awareness and knowledge of the impacts of business decisions and changes.
  • Strong ability to drive continuous improvement and application of emerging technologies
