JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an opportunity for an experienced Construction Operations Co Ordinator and Estimator to join our team located in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs.

 The ideal candidate must show evidence of and demonstrate competency in the following requirements:

  1. Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or equivalent
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Projects or equivalent
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
  4. Proficient in Construction Estimating Software
  5. Minimum 3 years experience in a building/construction environment and estimating role.

 In addition to the above requirements, special consideration will be given to candidates who have worked on construction sites in a supervisory capacity.

 Applications received that do not meet the above requirements 1-5 inclusive will not be considered. 

Job tasks and key responsibilities

Read plans and accurately interpret tender drawings and scope of work documentation particularly within tight tendering timeframes.

Review incoming tender documentation to determine client requirements, scope of work and contracting terms and conditions.

Liaise with architects, engineers, and relevant statutory bodies during the tender process.

Review and issue tender packages and addenda to suppliers and subcontractors.

Measure and produce accurate material take-offs.

Prepare and finalise BOQs ready for tender inclusion in

Procure competitive subcontractor and supplier quotations to develop scope of work packages.

Monitor and update scope of works during the tender process.

Compile variations to scope and subsequent claims.

Conduct tender review meetings with the management team and compile required tender review documentation and adjust tender pricing as required.

Assist and provide ongoing advice to project teams.

Work cohesively with company builder in all aspects of tender and construction phases.

Provide support and advice to on site staff members and trades

Monitor and update scope of works during the construction process.
