Golder has a new full-time opportunity within our Mining team for an Mine Closure Engineer or Scientist, based in Perth. The role will support our Mine Environment and Mine Closure Teams to deliver mine closure solutions for our mining clients. You will have excellent communication skills and solutions-focused mindset.

Key Duties And Responsibilities Will Include

  • Assisting in developing final landforms for rehabilitation incorporating both traditional engineering linear designs and non-linear geomorphic designs;
  • Assisting with planning for closure and integrated life of mine designs;
  • Undertaking material characterization in terms of soils erodibility and suitability for use;
  • Supervising and direct contractors including civil earthworks projects;
  • Assisting in the development of mining impact assessments and regulatory approval documentation;
  • Preforming environmental assessments including baseline environmental investigations, due diligence investigations, environmental hazard identification and/or risk assessment;
  • Preparing technical deliverables such as proposals, reports, drawings and specifications under senior review; and
  • Conducting all work to satisfy all company, client and government conditions, policies, procedures, regulations and standards and other duties as required.
Skills

, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Science with at least 5 years work experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in GIS and 3D modelling tools including at least one of Deswik, Civil 3D, Carlson, or 12D is highly desirable but not essential;
  • Excellent interpersonal and ability to work both independently and within a team environment; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to Occupational Health & Safety.
