JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role:

Based in Deer Park and reporting to the Technical Manager – Concrete, we are looking for an experienced Technical Specialist to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring, developing and optimising the technical performance of Boral Concrete products for the benefit of both customer and company.

Key duties:

  • Recommend/organise testing of products to ensure sufficient performance indicators are available for assessment of tenders, production purposes, ordering purposes and quotation purposes;
  • Monitor the performance of products and recommend changes to specifications;
  • Ensure test frequencies match production, quality plans and ITP's, and where applicable update specifications, ITP's on DMS;
  • Recommend changes or improvements to quality control (QC) procedures, while also maintaining and updating laboratory Quality Manuals as required;
  • Maintain training records for testing officers, and where applicable organise training for testing officers; and
  • Be able to act in the capacity of local NATA representatives and also be able to act as signatory for the range product tests.
Must-haves:
  • Relevant industry experience;
  • Tertiary qualifications in science or another relevant discipline;
  • Sound technical knowledge of construction products (desirable);
  • Previous experience in customer-focused technical sales;
  • Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards;
  • Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data;
  • NATA signatory (advantageous but not essential);
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to keep up to date with relevant industry developments; and
  • Personal drive and results-orientation.
