About Your Role

This Electronics Hardware Engineer role will form part of the Engineering Support Team under the Scylla In-Service Support(ISS) contract for the Collins Class submarines.

Based in our Underwater Systems team, this full time permanent role is to perform hardware and electronics engineering related tasks to maintain and support the Scylla sonar and associated equipment and systems.

  • Working with the manufacturing, maintenance and repair teams to deliver and maintain hardware equipment and systems. This may involve providing assistance in developing assembly, repair and test techniques, sourcing of alternates to obsolete parts and materials, and testing as per appropriate engineering specifications.
  • Documenting all engineering support and investigation work to a high standard and utilising the peer review process.
  • Working with the Electronics, Mechanical & Acoustic Engineering Design teams in order to develop equipment designs.
  • Supporting preparation of documents required for design data packs, such as: specifications, compliance matrices, design calculations, analysis reports, drawings, test plans, test reports and BOMs

How About You?

  • IEAust recognised Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree able to meet the requirements for Professional membership of Engineers Australia.
  • Knowledge of the engineering design process, including familiarity with manufacturing processes.
