JOB DESCRIPTION

The Client

Inquire Invent is a fast growing residential construction business. They specialise in design and build of highly functional, low maintenance, natural, recyclable houses in Victoria. They are now looking to hire a motivated Carpenter to join their successful team in Creswick, Victoria.

The Role

As a Carpenter, it is essential that you have the passion to carry out carpentry duties in an effective and timely manner.

This is a full time position with an annual salary of $55,000 plus superannuation.

The Responsibilities

Some tasks may include

  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of materials needed
  • Conduct repair and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
  • Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material according to requirements
  • Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
  • Install flooring, roofing and drywall to a profesioanl standard
  • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
  • Inspect houses and conduct repairs or maintenance
  • Build scaffolding and other construction structures

The Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Carpentry
  • Extensive experience with all aspects of carpentry in a trade environment
  • Strong understanding for site safety, OH&S requirements and reporting of hazards
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Willingness and physical capability to perform labouring duties
  • Good with hand + power tools
  • Possess own tools is mandatory
  • Preferable to own suitable transport with tow trailing ability
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be passionate about the environment and recycling endeavours
  • Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Verifiable work references
