Job Summary

Due to recent project wins, AECOM’s Rail team in Sydney is seeking to expand its team. We are looking for an aspiring and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer with experience within the Rail sector, who has a passion for technical excellence and enjoys the challenge of delivering multi-discipline projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to be actively involved in innovative and highly motivated team of professionals and be instrumental in delivering landmark projects within NSW and across Australia.

The primary focus of this role is to undertake Earthing and Bonding system design, modelling and testing for our railway projects and industrial installations. You will be proficient in supporting and engaging in design reviews as a checker / verifier and will be responsible for preparing earthing and bonding designs from feasibility, through concept and ultimately to full detail design.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer within the team, you will actively participate in and contribute to the winning, management and delivery of moderate to large-scale projects. In addition to this, you will contribute to successful project delivery, management of resources, budgets and schedules whilst enhancing client and working relationships. You will also inspire and mentor AECOM professionals and graduates to support team growth and upskilling.

Ideally, You Will Have

Minimum Requirements

  • Appropriate years professional experience
  • Proficient in Earthing and Bonding requirements for AC and DC railways
  • Recent experience in HV and LV earth grid design and testing
  • Earth grid modelling experience in CDEGS software, or equivalent
  • In depth knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and industry guidelines.
  • Recently published or presented paper(s) in a relevant technical area would be highly regarded
  • Member of professional institution
  • Experience in technical delivery of multi-disciplinary rail projects – experience with Sydney Trains / TfNSW is advantageous
  • Experience preparing design reports and detailed drawings
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
